Our Anti-Stress Philosophy and How It Relates To Piano Lessons

Private lessons are a good fit for many students, and many private teachers do a wonderful job. But we believe that our unique program offers something that private lessons cannot: a stress-free environment.

Stress activates the body’s fight-or-flight response, which then limits activity in the prefrontal cortex. That limits what your child can retain in a piano lesson.

Each plays at a professional level, has years of teaching experience, and has been extensively trained in the Piano Express program. Our main goal is that your child learn the piano at a high level and gain a tremendous sense of accomplishment.

Learn All of the Musical Fundamentals

Your child will learn foundational music principles that will make them an independent musician. In addition to piano-specific training like hand position, pedaling, identifying keys on the piano, and technique, they will learn the  read notes in the bass and treble clefs, learn dynamic markings (forte and piano, etc.), accidentals, scales, key signatures, major and minor modes, and much more. All along the way, they’ll practice new concepts with fun, skill level-appropriate pieces that are accompanied by backing tracks.
